Decisions, Decisions...

For those of you who have asked - and those of you who haven't - I am not bored since retiring. The word 'bored' does not ever even enter my mind. Ever.

There are many choices that present themselves each day and from those choices I must decide what to do.

Today for example:

I slept in until 9AM. It was raining outside when I woke up so the day was showing great promise already. I therefore stayed in my jammies until almost 2PM, leisurely read the paper with a large cup of Mariebelle Aztec Hot Chocolate (especially the opinion columns which are fast becoming a favorite source of funny stuff). Multitasked while reading the paper by listening to the Diane Rehm show on NPR. Checked email, responded to some and made a couple of small purchases online. Around 2PM I decided that it was time to shower and decide what to do with my day.

Here are a few of my options:
  • Read any of several books that I have started and long to finish (in front of fireplace or in bed? Will decide.)
  • Create template for project that daughter-in-law is working on.
  • Do laundry that is silently waiting...or maybe not.
  • Pull weeds in rain - do I want to risk catching my death?
  • Trim overgrown bushes in front of house - involves risk of slipping and falling into deep window well and never being found.
  • Write letter to some of my grandchildren.
  • Hike to petroglyphs in the rain...are the tumbleweeds that I will encounter more accommodating when wet?
  • Watch a good chick flick.
  • Make homemade soup for dinner...share some with ill neighbor.
  • Purchase rabbit wire and bales of hay for rose hedge winterization.
  • Work on sewing projects.
  • Make origami cranes for this years Christmas tree.
  • Do Visiting Teaching.
  • Practice piano.
  • Practice organ.
  • Read through lesson for this coming Sunday.
  • Put off reading through lesson for this coming Sunday until tomorrow.
  • Watch birds at our bird oasis.
  • Watch favorite hour long news program on TV at 4PM wrapped in blanket.
  • Clean something - if so, what?
  • Organize something - if so, what?
  • Look up 'pejorative'.
  • Move 'My Pictures' from old computer to new computer - decide how to do this.
  • Call nearby son-in-law to inquire about moving 'My Pictures'. With a little luck he'll come over and do it for me.
As you can easily see with all of these choices and many others like them, there is no way that I can ever get bored.

You need a gaming console,Playstation or Xbox.
You'll be amazed how much you could get done. Especially when baby sitting some certain children.

Apparently I need to come over so you can show off your new computer. Apparently I also need to bring a certain SIL with me.

Let me know when you need company for that chick flick. Or help with anything. The yardwork doesn't sound fun though. I have my own weeds to pull, plants to cut back, and window wells to fall in. It seems like I've seen less of you since you've retired than when you were working!?! You're having too much fun over there!
