The First Day

Pitchers: Pitchers are symbolic of vessels containing the nectar of life, the healing waters of peace. They pour out an endless supply of crystal clear, cleansing waters.

Today is the first day of my blog. I thought I might wait until I retire to begin it...but perhaps not. Retirement is not all that far away now...the end of October should be the last day of my medical career (if you could possibly call it that). Then...on to the enjoyment of doing as I wish with my time. I shall never get bored.

I actually don't like the word 'bored'...it indicates a lack of imagination and creativity in the techniques one uses to fill up the hours of the day. I find that mostly I don't have to give thought to 'what to do' with my time. There is an entity that seems to be pouring activity into my days with a big pitcher. A pitcher that never empties, mind you. If I have a blank day on the calendar it soon fills up with very little effort on my part. Sometimes I just go with the flow. Sometimes I resist and swim upstream ~ seeking new vistas. Sometimes I nearly drown in the flood that fills my days.

Hopefully my days will be filled with a perfect mix of creativity, with only an occasional flood. Time must be in the mix...time to think. Those with right brains must have time to daydream you know...doing so only in the shower is not nearly enough.

Sounds like the perfect world, doesn't it. Thought...Creation...Flood...and then see what develops.

Welcome to the blogoshpere!

Sounds like you'll be retiring right about the time I go back to work.

Congratulations! I always enjoy reading your beautiful poems and writings, and now I will be able to more often.

Grandma, I was tickled with joy when I saw your blog. I'm glad you decided to start writing your thoughts now, instead of later. I look forward to reading all about the "un-boredom" you will experience throughout your days. Lots of love!
